Sharing: CCSD Dress Code updates - The color gray may now be worn for pants, shorts, and skirts. The color red may be worn for girls dresses. Students will also be permitted shoes of any color and style, as long as they are close toe, closed heel and flat (no heels). CCSD Back to School update - The new revised dress code is being shared for students and parents to shop for their approved back to school clothes. Vendors such as Old Navy, Target, Walmart and The Children's Place will have these colors and styles. School starts on Aug. 8th.
CCSD spotlight is for 2023 VHS Grad Rayce Edmondson for winning a National SkillsUSA Award in Automotive Service Technology. Rayce completed the Automotive program at Inspire Academy. June 23rd, Rayce captured 2nd place in the Maintenance and Light Repair Contest at the 2023 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Congratulations Rayce and Inspire Academy Automotive Teacher, Mr. James Winkles.
The CCSD celebrates the recognition of the former Chambers County Training School and J.P. Powell Middle School with a historic landmark presentation that took place for alumni and honored guests on campus Saturday, June 24th.
CCSD Superintendent, Dr. Casey Chambley was thrilled to recently accept business sponsorship donations from Mr. David Wilkinson with AJIN USA and Mr. Kirby Hadaway with Wooshin USA. Both AJIN and Wooshin partnered as silver Sponsors committing $1000.00 each towards the district’s staff appreciation luncheon held in May and their back to school staff breakfast on August 2, 2023. Dr. Chambley noted that their support goes a long way to help serve our students and staff.

Credit recovery at Inspire Academy will be extended by 1 hour each day to accommodate for the day missed for severe weather on 6/14/23. Students will stay until 1:30 PM CT each day starting 6/22 through 6/29. Thank you!
The CCSD is proud of our Cadets that competed in the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge on June 4-9th at Fort Benning and Columbus State University. LHS Cadets were Amoreya Doss & Skye Favors and VHS were Brodie Yates, Tiya Pittman, Rihanna Swain and Arriyah Sanders. Cadets competed in land navigation, obstacle courses, rappel tower, robotics and leadership development. The JROTC Cadets from the CCSD shined representing Chambers County. Sharing this reminder to join ADECA or Alabama Digital Expansion Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for the Alabama Community Broadband Technical Assistance Program in-person event for Chambers County at the ALFA Building in LaFayette. The meeting will be held at 1006 Avenue A SE, Lafayette, AL 36862.
Chambers County, will receive technical assistance to understand the County’s broadband gaps and opportunities, and to position the County for broadband
efforts to address these. Over the next few years, the State of Alabama will make unprecedented funds available for this specific purpose and your engagement is critical to shape the state’s plans and position the County to take advantage of these opportunities. We hope you will participate actively in this meeting and encourage others to do so, which will result in a county-specific profile with strategic approaches to help you achieve your broadband goals.
