Huguley partnered with Springwood High School to initiate a Big Brother/ Big Sister mentor program. Brennan Plank, a junior at Springwood and National Honor Society member, approached Mr Jenkins this past summer with his proposal.
After several planning meetings, students arrived today for the first Big Brother/ Big Sister meeting. Students participated in activities organized by Huguley Staff (LaTika Spencer and Nikki Allen). Our goal for this year is to have students meet on a monthly basis where they work on reading / math skills, followed by social activities. Seeing the smiles on our students’ faces were priceless.
